The Moment I Knew It Was Time To Move To A New Country

Writer Yinka Rickford-Anguin had been living in the United Kingdom and using a green card to visit the U.S. for years. But one day, she decided that it was time for her to make a major life change and become a permanent American citizen.

"It's always been an option for me -- my father has lived here for 15 or 16 years," Rickford-Anguin told HuffPost Live host Caroline Modarressy-Tehrani in a segment last week, explaining that she also spent time in the U.S. during and after college. "My life has always felt like 'one foot in England, one foot in the States' but I just never felt ready to make that final move until recently."

The move will be a big change for Rickford-Anguin and she'll be giving up many aspects of her current lifestyle, but there's one thing she's determined not to let go of.

"I'm adamant and determined not to let go of my English accent," she said. "I think a lot of Americans get excited about it."
