Longtime NBC News correspondent Jamie Gangel has left the network, TVNewser reported Monday.
Gangel, who had been the national correspondent for "Today" and a “Nightly News" contributor for 31 years, tweeted the news of her departure:
Thank you to the wonderful people I have worked with at NBC for the last 31 years! Now on to Chapter Two. As we like to say, stay tuned!

NBC News confirmed to TVNewser that the veteran correspondent is retiring.
“After 31 years as an award-winning journalist at NBC News and the Today Show, Jamie decided to retire," an NBC News spokesperson said. "We are grateful for her many contributions and we wish her the very best."
Gangel's career highlights include exclusive interviews with Hillary Clinton, former Vice President Dick Cheney and every living president. She told TVNewser that she leaves the network with no hard feelings towards NBC News, but looks forward to finally having some time off after never having not worked a day in her life.
