'Ask A Clean Person' Author Shares Dildo Cleaning Tips (VIDEO)

Are You Cleaning Your Dildo Correctly?

Do you know how to correctly clean your dildo?

Jolie Kerr, author of "Ask A Clean Person," is concerned that you don't.

"Soap and water," Kerr asserted to HuffPost Live host Nancy Redd, emphasizing that that's the only way to effectively do it.

Not Purell. "It's heavily heavily alcohol based," Kerr explains. "And, generally speaking, most people would not put rubbing alcohol in themselves."

And definitely no bleach. "It's going to render that same stain more yellow."

In spite of what most might think, cleaning one's dildo extends past sanitation -- safety is also a factor.

"If you're sharing these toys with a partners, multiple partners... please be safe," Kerr said. "STDS are no joke, nobody wants one, and you really have to know what you're working with, and you have to be careful. If you really can't clean your toys, use a condom on your toys."
