Kristin Cavallari is heading back to television, this time hosting E!'s "The Fabulist" with Orly Shani.
But with a new TV gig comes more Lauren Conrad comparisons. Many people assume Cavallari is trying to follow in her former co-star's footsteps by delving into the lifestyle and design world. Conrad, of course, is a fashion designer who runs the website TheBeautyDepartment.com, as well as her personal blog and social accounts. Cavallari's show "The Fabulist" will take on the latest trends in fashion, beauty, food, interior design, travel and more.
The 27-year-old, who starred on MTV's "Laguna Beach" and "The Hills" with Conrad, stopped by HuffPost Live on Friday, March 14, to discuss her new career path and endless "feud" with LC.
"I've been getting [the Lauren Conrad comparisons] for 10 years," Cavallari told HuffPost Live host Caitlyn Becker. "Of course [I get sick of them], but it's been a part of my career since day one ... I expect it. It is what it is, but it doesn't bother me. There's worse people to be compared to."
Cavallari and Conrad have been "battling it out" since MTV first aired their teen reality series back in 2004. Between brawls over Stephen Colletti and cat fights over gal pals, the girls have had their fair share of drama. But Cavallari, who's expecting her second child with husband Jay Cutler, admits she's moved past her adolescent years and thinks people are beginning to notice that.
"Once I had my first baby, things really changed. I feel like people started to see me in a different light," she said. "On 'Laguna Beach' and 'The Hills,' I was sort of known as the party girl, the wild child, the bitch and I mean, listen 18 to 22, yeah, I had a lot of fun! That's what you're supposed to do at that age. But I felt like having a baby was a turning point and people were sort of like, 'Okay, maybe she's not that same girl that she used to be.'"
