N.C. State's basketball team seemed just as shocked as some college basketball media members when its name was revealed as a No. 12 seed for the NCAA Tournament. A bubble team heading into Selection Sunday, the Wolfpack players jumped out of their seats and started screaming when they found out they'd be in a play-in game against Xavier in the Midwest region.
After the full bracket was unveiled, selection committee chairman Ron Wellman said that N.C. State was the last team to make the field.
It certainly felt that way judging from some reactions on Twitter.
N.C. State? SERIOUSLY?

N.C. State gets in...wow. Plays Xavier in play-in.

THERE’S A KABOOM. N.C. State is in the freaking field.

Things I disagree with the committee on: Louisville a No. 4, the overloaded Midwest region, UNM a No. 7 and NC State over SMU.

NC State was the committee's "You can't Nate Silver us!" moment of teen rebellion. Probably late last night.
