Hot In Cleveland actress Valerie Bertinelli had a great response when we asked what her biggest challenge has been while trying to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
After breaking her foot in December and having surgery, Valerie has had to make some adjustments in her lifestyle and diet to compensate for her injury. “I’m just now beginning to be more mobile,” she told us. Valerie also uses a FitBit wireless activity wristband to monitor her daily steps and encourage staying active.
“Just trying to move is really how I maintain a healthy lifestyle,” she told us. “I’m Italian and I love to cook, so I need to be able to move my body to burn those calories!”
When it comes to curbing her cravings or watching her diet, Valerie uses portion control to lower her portion sizes and monitor her calorie intake. However, she doesn’t believe in denying yourself anything, as long as you don’t over-indulge.
“The first bite is always the best! Just enjoy that first bite,” she laughed.
