If it were up to kids, bedtime would last for hours. One story becomes three stories, water cups need to be filled and refilled and night lights need to be just so. Sometimes it seems they’ll do anything to postpone the eventual goodnight. If it were up to parents, kids would go straight to sleep without a peep. We love a cuddle with our little ones, but at the end of a long day, the need to collapse on the couch outweighs the umpteenth request for a lullabye.
