The Wachowski siblings seem to have amplified just about everything in "Jupiter Ascending": the lofty battle sequences, the CGI, the violence, the science-fiction, the protagonist called upon for greatness -- and this from the directors who gave us the "Matrix" trilogy, "Speed Racer" and "Cloud Atlas." The new film's latest trailer premiered online on Wednesday and showcased a future where gods rule over humans. "Jupiter" stars Mila Kunis as a Russian immigrant who cleans toilets for a living but is actually destined to be the universe's next leader. That is, if the half-wolf, half-human "splice" Caine (Channing Tatum) can save her from the death sentence imposed by the evil Balem The King (a Loki-esque Eddie Redmayne).
As the trailer boasts, "This July the fate of our world begins with her." "Jupiter" co-stars Sean Bean, Douglas Booth and James D'Arcy, and it comes with a score by Oscar- and Emmy-winning composer Michael Giacchino ("Up," "Lost"). Catch the movie in wide release on July 18.
