Liam Neeson Has A Woody Allen Story Some Find Hard To Believe

Liam Neeson was apparently there when the scandal involving Woody Allen, Mia Farrow and Soon-Yi Previn broke, but some don't believe it.

In an interview with GQ for the magazine's April 2014 issue, Neeson revealed he was filming with Woody Allen when Allen's lawyer told him his partner, Mia Farrow, had found nude photos of their adoptive daughter Soon-Yi Priven in Allen's apartment. They were on the set of "Husbands and Wives," and Neeson was in the middle of a sex scene with actress Judy Davis.

"It was fucking great," he said of filming with Allen. "However, there was one incident -- people think I've made this up, but no. There's a scene where I'm going down on Judy Davis, right. Judy and I are in bed -- obviously covered up -- and as I'm going down, Judy's having this monologue in her head. And the crew are all ready, and we're waiting for Woody. No-show. It's starting to get a bit uncomfortable -- it's a bed scene. Anyway, he came out after about twenty minutes and said, 'Okay. Camera starts on Judy. Liam, I want to just see the top of your head. Okay, we know where you're going...." So there was no apology; nothing. What happened: His lawyer had gotten in touch with him to say Ms. Farrow has found naked photographs of her adopted daughter [Soon-Yi]."

The incident happened more than 20 years ago. Farrow found under a tissue box on Allen's mantle a stack of nude Polaroid photos of Previn with her legs spread, Vanity Fair previously reported. The saga unfolded in the tabloids, due to its seemingly incestuous nature. Allen married Previn in 1997; Previn was 27 and Allen was 62 at the time.

Neeson told GQ he and his late wife, Natasha Richardson, ultimately became "very good friends" with Farrow.

Allen's personal relations were recently thrust back in the headlines following his adoptive daughter Dylan Farrow's New York Times open letter about the alleged sexual abuse Allen committed against her in 1992. He denied the claims and defended his relationship with Previn in his own February op-ed.

"[T]he public felt the same dismay over Soon-Yi and myself, but despite what it looked like our feelings were authentic," he wrote, "and we’ve been happily married for 16 years with two great kids, both adopted."
