Bear Simulator Makes Hibernating Bad-Ass

Bear Simulator Makes Hibernating Bad-Ass

Bears are so cool, you guys.

They sleep. They climb trees. They run, walk, and generally bear around. So it bears repeating that Bear Simulator -- a new, first-person bear video game by Farjay Studios -- is coming to a computer near you.

Its Kickstarter campaign has already raised more than $59,000 as of this writing. That's well above what its creator, John Farjay expected to raise, so that means we're bearly on the cusp of a video game where you, the gamer, get to be a bear for a day.

And the perks are awesome. As a bear in Bear Simulator, you'll get to:

  • Forage for berries

  • Steal some honey
  • Defend yourself from dangerous animals
  • Rest in your den
  • Explore a huge open world to discover secrets that will blow your mind
  • Farjay didn't get back to us by press time, so we couldn't get the burning question answered: How much of this game was inspired by Goat Simulator, and why are insane, animal-themed video games so hot right now? Really, though, it doesn't matter. Independent game developers are taking over, and we're completely fine with that.

    Also, bears.
