Al Roker's Super-Snarky Response To Josh Elliott Leaving 'GMA'

Al Roker's Cheeky Response To 'GMA' News

Al Roker got downright sassy Monday morning when he reacted to news of rival show "Good Morning America" losing Josh Elliott.

The "Today" co-host tweeted:

After months of negotiations with "GMA," Elliott has decided to leave the ABC News morning show for an offer from NBC Sports. In talks with ABC, Elliott had reportedly demanded a pay raise equivalent to that of Robin Roberts'. There is less than a month left on his existing contract, and he will be replaced by Amy Robach.

Roker's tweet, of course, was also a reference to Gwyneth Paltrow's widely-mocked use of the phrase "conscious uncoupling." The message on Monday garnered praise for Roker throwing "shade," and "[keeping] it real."

CORRECTION: This post originally spelled Josh Elliott's name incorrectly. His name is not spelled "Josh Elliot."
