LeBron James Meets Teen Fan With Cancer, Says 'She's The Stronger One Out Of Us Two'

How LeBron James Made This Girl's Basketball Dreams Come True

In February, the hashtag #LeBronMeetEbony trended on Twitter thanks to a high school basketball team from Verona, WI. They were trying to set up a meeting between their teammate, 16-year-old Ebony Nettles-Bey, who is battling stage 4 cancer, and her hero, LeBron James.

A little more than a month later, on Saturday night, Ebony's dream came true. According to Madison.com, Ebony thought she was just going to watch the Miami Heat play the Milwaukee Bucks. But then, a Bucks representative led her to the Heat's locker room. She then ran onto the floor with the team, practiced with LeBron and stood by him during the national anthem.

Back when the hashtag gained steam on Twitter, ESPN's Rick Reilly wrote a letter to LeBron listing the similarities between him and his young fan: They both wear headbands, they're both awesome at basketball, Ebony hopes to go pro someday and she also hates to lose.

But in a press interview following their Saturday night hangout, LeBron pointed out one thing he feels makes her different: "She's the stronger one out of us two... she's unbelievable," he said. (You can watch the full interview above.)
