The lunchbox note is a time honored tradition for many families -- the carefully placed post-it note full of love sandwiched between fruit slices and a juice box. Dad Jonathan Palmisano is taking his lunchtime notes a few steps further by incorporating his son's favorite cartoon characters into each one.

Palmisano's napkin doodles delight not only his son, but also his numerous Lunchbox Doodles Tumblr and Instagram followers. He expertly recreates Disney, Dreamworks, Nintendo, and Cartoon Network characters, among others, to wish his son good luck on a test, help him review spelling words, or celebrate that it's finally Friday. This dad proves that a sharpie and a stack of napkins can be the perfect way to bring a smile to a child's face.
