Fox News contributor Jehmu Greene tore into conservative radio show host Chris Plante for his "smear" against former CIA Deputy Director Mike Morell on Wednesday afternoon.
The two were discussing Morell's testimony regarding the 2012 attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya on FOX News Channel's "The Real Story With Gretchen Carlson."
Plante argued that "this whole thing stinks for nine different reasons. Mike Morell has left the Central Intelligence Agency and now works for a money-making advisory group in Washington, DC with a couple of former Hillary Clinton staffers and with the former chief of staff of the chairman of this committee. If it were an Oliver Stone movie, you wouldn't believe it, but here it is in real life."
Carlson then asked about those who question Morell for believing there was both a protest and terrorist attack. Greene's response?
"Shame on them. Shame on you too, Chris. Let's talk about Mike Morell for a second. This is a 30-year decorated veteran of the CIA. This man has spent his entire career keeping us safe. He was George W. Bush's top intelligence aide. He gave his daily briefings to President Bush and you are trying to smear him, smear him for a political vendetta that has been proven wrong?"
Morell denied Republican accusations of CIA cover-ups during the hearing, and said, “We did not deliberately downplay the role of terrorists in the Benghazi attack in our analysis or in the talking points."
