When it comes to fun recreational and lifestyle applications for smartphones, personal technology columnist Wall Street Journal Personal Technology Columnist Joanna Stern is an expert.
Joanna loves an application called My Fitness Pal, which helps people track their daily calorie intake both at home and on the go. All you need to do is input the type of food you eat for a specific meal, and the application calculates the total calorie intake.
Joanna also enjoys using a music application called Beats Music, which allows users to easily discover new music. The program is designed in the style of a mad lib, where you “fill in the blanks” to determine what your mood or environment is. Beats Music then uses that information to tailor a music recommendation to your specific tastes.
