If you still need a reminder about the dangers of texting while driving, this video will make sure you never forget.
Produced by the Tombras Group and posted online April 3 by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to mark the beginning of National Distracted Driving Awareness Month, the 30-second PSA shows how a happy afternoon turned disastrous for three teens -- all because of a momentary distraction.
According to Distraction.gov, a Department of Transportation website about distracted driving, more than 3,300 people were killed and more than 420,000 injured in accidents involving a distracted driver in the U.S. in 2012.
"At any given moment during daylight hours, over 660,000 vehicles are being driven by someone using a hand-held cell phone," per the website.

Correction: An earlier version of this post mistakenly claimed that Distraction.gov was launched this month to kick off National Distracted Driving Awareness Month. The site was actually launched in 2010.
