Damon Lindelof's 'The Leftovers' Gets Its First Freaky Teaser

'Lost' Fans Will Love This New Teaser For 'The Leftovers'

Leftovers usually imply a sense of glee and excitement in normal situations (especially when it comes to food), but for HBO's new series it means something totally different.

In "The Leftovers," a new HBO series from "Lost" co-creator Damon Lindelof, 2 percent of the earth's population suddenly disappear following a rapture-life event. The series is based on the 2011 novel of the same name by Tom Perrotta and stars Liv Tyler in her TV debut as a woman targeted by a cult and Justin Theroux as a police chief.

In the first teaser trailer for "The Leftovers," everything starts off with calm, time-lapse visuals from around the world until a baby disappears, along with 140 million other people -- then it gets scary. There's weird cultish people in white shirts, Theroux looking freaked out, and people jumping off of buildings.

Check out the unnerving teaser above and get ready for the population to shrink on June 15.
