Kim Kardashian And Kanye West Vogue Issue May Outsell Issues With Beyonce, Michelle Obama

Kimye Vogue Issue May Outsell Issues Featuring Beyonce, Michelle Obama

It seems near impossible to top Beyonce and Michelle Obama, but Kimye might've done just that.

The New York Post's Page Six reports Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's buzzed-about April 2014 Vogue issue is slated to sell between 300,000 and 400,000 copies. It may even surpass sales of 2013 issues featuring Beyonce and Obama that sold about 355,000 and 300,000 copies, respectively.

A Condé Nast representative was not immediately available for further comment to The Huffington Post, but a rep told Page Six: “[We] never comment on sales figures.”

One person who might not be surprised by the issue's huge sales is West himself, who previously told Ryan Seacrest that his fiancée is the perfect Vogue cover girl.

"There's no way Kim Kardashian shouldn't be on the cover of Vogue," he said in October. "She's like the most intriguing woman right now ... No one is looking at what [President Barack] Obama is wearing. Michelle Obama can't Instagram a [bathing suit] pic like what my girl Instagrammed the other day."

The Kimye Vogue spread featuring baby North West was certainly one of the most talked about in some time. Despite some backlash over how a reality star could be featured front and center on the fashion bible, Anna Wintour defended her choice.

"Part of the pleasure of editing Vogue, one that lies in a long tradition of this magazine, is being able to feature those who define the culture at any given moment, who stir things up, whose presence in the world shapes the way it looks and influences the way we see it," Wintour wrote in her editor's letter. "I think we can all agree on the fact that that role is currently being played by Kim and Kanye to a T. (Or perhaps that should be to a K?)"
