When you begin to incorporate coupons and budgets into your lifestyle, Frugal living expert Lauren Greutman has a few tips to get you started on the right foot.
“I recommend starting by creating and then sticking to a realistic budget,” Lauren said. “If you set a realistic expectation for your budget, then you will start to find that you can get specific items basically for free.”
There are five items that Lauren says she can reliably always get for free or close to free, thanks to a combination of sales and coupons. Those items are pasta, toothpaste, dental floss, laundry detergent and canned beans.
“These are specific areas to focus on when you first get started,” she explained.
In addition to using coupons and being mindful of sales, Lauren also recommends dividing your budget into thirds, meal planning and most importantly, starting small to see big results in your monthly savings.
