Jon Stewart Shames The NCAA: 'If They're Broke, Why Fix It?' (VIDEOS)

Comedy Central

"The Daily Show" host Jon Stewart brilliantly went after the NCAA on Thursday. Using the recent comments by UConn basketball star Shabazz Napier about athletes going to bed hungry as a starting point, Stewart tore into the NCAA. From its lucrative television contract for March Madness to its reaction to the National Labor Relations Board's ruling that Northwestern football players qualify as employees, he pointed out so much that is unfair.

"And we like our exploitative, overwhelmingly financially advantageous to us, draconian collegiate model. I mean, you know the old expression. 'If they're broke, why fix it?," Stewart said.
