Chris Paul's Baseline Spin Move Embarrassed Evan Fournier And Evoked Michael Jordan (VIDEOS)

Chris Paul Did Something Cruel And Unusual To This Defender

Chris Paul may seem like a nice guy in those insurance commercials but he can be a bad, bad man on the basketball court.

The Los Angeles Clippers' star point guard showed Evan Fournier of the Denver Nuggets just how ruthless he can be with a mesmerizing bit of skill on Tuesday night at Staples Center. Paul shook the second-year French shooting guard with a behind-the-back dribble away from the rim and then a subsequent spin move toward it as he drove along the baseline for a reverse layup. The jaw-dropping sequence showed off Paul's devastating mix of professional precision and playground flair and will therefore be shown far too much on ESPN for Fournier's liking.

"It's all about putting someone in the spin cycle, right here," TNT analyst Reggie Miller marveled.

The baseline bamboozlement was reminiscent of an iconic move made by Michael Jordan against the New York Knicks in the 1991 NBA Playoffs. Fournier can consider himself fortunate that Paul didn't finish quite as emphatically as Jordan.
