'Scandal' Makes History With Its Most-Watched Season Finale Ever

Out With A Bang

Thursday's season finale of "Scandal"went out with a bang. Literally.

Bombs exploding, Papa Pope proving he really is the most immoral human being on the planet, and Olivia and Jake flying off into the sun(set) left fans in a state of shock. And that's a lot of fans, too. "Scandal" scored its highest ratings for a season finale last night with 10.5 million viewers watching the drama unfold for Olivia Pope and co. (It's safe to assume the consumption of red wine also peaked during that hour block.)

The final episode of Season 3 attracted more viewers than the finales "Community", "Parenthood" and "Parks and Recreation" combined. Overall, ABC says viewership for Season 3 of "Scandal" surged about 40 percent in the coveted adult 18-49 demo as compared to Season 2, easily making it network TV’s fastest-growing returning show.

Way to go gladiators!
