Obama Congratulates Boston Marathon Winner 'For Making America Proud'

President Barack Obama offered congratulations to the top American finishers at this year's Boston Marathon, praising the athletes for "making America proud" one year after a bombing at the finish line killed three and injured hundreds.

Tweeting from the White House account, where the president signs off on messages he writes himself with "-bo," Obama praised the athletes on their performance:

Congrats to @RunMeb and @ShalaneFlanagan for making America proud! All of today's runners showed the world the meaning of #BostonStrong. -bo
