Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) discussed the treatment of women in the U.S. Senate in a Tuesday appearance on "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart."
Warren -- who is promoting her new book, A Fighting Chance -- had a simple answer when Stewart asked if she felt like women are treated differently than men in Congress.
"Yes," Warren said.
"That does exist?" Stewart asked.
"Yep," Warren replied.
Warren said ignoring it is one way to actively battle different treatment toward women.
"You try to get to the things that really matter, to get to the issues that matter to you, to make sure that your voice gets heard on behalf of the people who sent you to Washington to work for them," Warren said. "It's a fight, but it's the right fight. We've just got to have it."
Warren references her first appearance on the show in her book, describing her "gut-wrenching, stomach-turning, bile-filled stage fright" in anticipation of the interview.
"For the zillionth time, I asked myself why on God's green earth I had agreed to sit down with Jon Stewart," Warren writes, noting that she threw up on two occasions.
