Teri Polo Files For Bankruptcy After Racking Up Nearly $1 Million In Debts

Teri Polo, best known for her role in the "Meet the Parents" franchise, has filed for bankruptcy, reports People magazine.

The 44-year-old actress' Chapter 11 filings show that she's close to a million dollars in debt -- owing nearly $745,000 to the IRS, just over $27,000 to the California Franchise Tax Board, and nearly $37,000 in credit card debt, reports Yahoo Celebrity. The actress, who currently stars on the ABC Family drama "The Fosters," claims to have less than $50,000 in assets, according to her petition filed with a Los Angeles court on April 14.

TMZ also notes that Polo's landlord filed a lawsuit back in February and is seeking $30,000 in damages, after the actress allegedly left her old apartment covered in dog feces and urine.
