ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) — The Boston Globe, The Associated Press, Baltimore's WBAL radio and CBS Sports have won top honors as "best of show" winners in the 80th National Headliner Awards.

For the Globe, John Tlumacki won the grand award for photography and multimedia producer Darren Durlach took the top prize for online videography.

The AP's former bureau chief for West Africa, Rukmini Callimachi, received top honors for stories on how al-Qaida operates, based on a cache of al-Qaida documents she uncovered in Mali. Callimachi now works for The New York Times.

Blake Berson at CBS Sports won in television for "Auburn Miracle: Prayer at Jordan Hare" while WBAL's Scott Wykoff took the grand award in radio for "Maryland's Day at the Races."

The awards were founded in 1934 by the Press Club of Atlantic City.
