When you try to make a life change, it's easier to stay motivated when lots of people are watching.
That's the concept behind the website Give It 100. People are encouraged to film themselves doing something -- anything -- for 100 consecutive days and upload their progress for others to follow. Maura Lint originally joined the site to encourage herself to exercise each day. But then her idea shifted, and she decided that for 100 days, she would record herself telling her three children, ages 19, 16 and 12, a reason why she loves them.
Lint told The Huffington Post in an email that she can easily become upset with her children at times, and thought the videos would be a way to stay positive. "Thinking about my kids in a loving way, made me love them even more. Do I yell less? According to my kids, a little bit. Have I stopped yelling altogether? No, but I'm still working on it!" she said.
Lint's motivation for the project goes beyond losing her cool. As she she shares in the video, watching her own mother fight through breast cancer left Lint with a poignant reminder to always tell her kids how much she cares for them.
You go, mom!
