Why Brad Paisley Wants To Knee Blake Shelton 'In The Nuts'

Blake Shelton may be his "old pal," but that doesn't mean Brad Paisley isn't a tad bit upset that Mr. Miranda Lambert broke his chart-topping record.

Shelton scored his 11th straight No. 1 with country song “Doin’ What She Likes" last month and beat out Paisley, who held the Nielsen BDS-based Billboard Country Airplay chart record with 10 consecutive hits spanning 2005 to 2009. Shelton's streak began with "Hillbilly Bone" in March 2010 and "The Voice" mentor tied Paisley's run of 10 when "Mine Would Be You" spent three weeks at the top of the chart last fall.

So, how does Paisley feel about Shelton stealing his thunder?

"I would shake his hand, and as I was shaking his hand, I would knee him in the nuts," Paisley joked with HuffPost Live host Caitlyn Becker on May 14. "No, it's great, I'm ecstatic for him. We're old pals and there's nothing better than thinking he broke the record. The hard part is, is when your record is 10 in a row, you start back over if you'd like to break it again. So my hopes of that are pretty slim."

Paisley added that he could see Carrie Underwood as the first female to break the record -- she's had six consecutive No. 1 hits, according to Billboard.
