Justin Bieber has been accused of attempted robbery, the Los Angeles Police Department informed The Huffington Post on Tuesday night, May 13.
According to LAPD Officer Rosario Herrera, the Canadian singer has been accused of attempting a robbery Monday night around 10:30 p.m. The alleged victim is currently being interviewed by police.
As of now, Bieber has not been charged by police with a crime. Herrera said "it's too preliminary" at this point in the investigation for police to question the singer.
TMZ reports that Bieber allegedly attempted to take a girl’s phone, according to another LAPD officer.
Bieber is currently scheduled to go on trial for charges of driving under the influence in Florida, and is awaiting trial for a misdemeanor assault charge in Toronto. Last month, the White House refused to comment on a petition calling for Bieber's deportation from the U.S. The petition stated: "We would like to see the dangerous, reckless, destructive, and drug abusing, Justin Bieber deported and his green card revoked."
