Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman have been balancing their hectic schedules over the last few months as Urban has been in Los Angeles shooting "American Idol" and Kidman has been in Australia (and elsewhere) filming upcoming projects.
So on the May 14 episode of "Idol," Urban made sure to let the audience know that he desperately misses his famous wife. The country crooner brought a picture of Kidman at the Cannes Film Festival premiere of "Grace of Monaco" to the set and placed it on the judge's desk for the remainder of the show.
“My wife is at the Cannes Film Festival tonight and it’s heartbreaking I can’t be there. This is her on the red carpet as of tonight, so I’m going to pretend she’s here and that I’m there all at the same time. It’s the one night I couldn’t be there,” the 46-year-old singer said.
As Jennifer Lopez smiled from ear-to-ear at Urban's romantic side, host Ryan Seacrest asked him which designer Kidman was wearing.
“I don’t know. Unfortunately, not me, but I don’t know who that is," Urban joked, as the audience giggled with embarrassment. "Did I just say that? That is my inside voice, I’m sorry," he added.
Ah, Hollywood love ...
