Jenny is returning to the block.
For the first time in her musical career, Jennifer Lopez will be performing in the Bronx. On Wednesday, State Farm announced the Nuyorican singer would be giving a live concert in her hometown borough as part of their Neighborhood Sessions.
The event will be held at Orchard Beach in Pelham Bay Park on June 4 and will offer families games, concessions and a variety of activities that will come to a close with a 90-minute concert by Lopez.
"I'm humbled and honored to be doing my first ever concert in the Bronx," J.Lo said in a press statement. "I can't wait to go back home and give a show to the people and community that inspired me. Of all the summer days I spent in Orchard Beach, this is going to be one to remember!"
J. Lo’s concert will be the first in a series of concerts by State Farm Neighborhood Sessions, a music program meant to give artists the opportunity to give back to the communities that inspired them growing up.
General admission tickets to the event were free and Bronx residents received first-access to them on May 15. Spots were limited, however, and within hours the event was sold out.
Those interested in attending can still purchase “Premiere Partner Zone” tickets for $150. All proceeds from the event will be going toward J.Lo’s own Lopez Family Foundation, the Kips Bay Boys and Girls Club, Teach for America, LISC and other Bronx-based organizations.
The Puerto Rican actress and singer has often spoken about her experience growing up in the Bronx and cited Rita Moreno’s performance in “West Side Story” as a huge influence on her artistic life.
"She changed my life," Lopez said after receiving the GLAAD Vanguard Award from Moreno last month. "Watching this beautiful, strong Puerto Rican woman command a screen with her talent in a time when Latina women did not have every door in this industry open to them made me feel as a little girl, watching in her living room in the Bronx, that anything was possible. Anything. Thank you for that."
The Bronx concert will be held just days before the June 17 release of her album, A.K.A. On the days leading up to the announcement of the event, J.Lo posted photos of her childhood home and more on Instagram.
On Wednesday, the star finally tweeted out the details to the event.

Still, J.Lo’s “firsts” don’t stop there. At Sunday’s BBMA ceremony, the singer will also become the first woman to receive Billboard’s Icon Award.
