Maya Rudolph's Variety Show Delivers Big On Nostalgia

'The Maya Rudolph Show' Delivers

Warning: The following clips may cause spontaneous jazz hands.

"The Maya Rudolph Show" premiered Monday with the goal of bringing back old school variety. And Rudolph, a seasoned "SNL" alum, may have accomplished just that.

The show was like the '70s and "SNL" had a love child who was the coolest, most popular kid ever. It featured smart sketches, celebrity appearances, musical numbers and dancing all done within the classic variety format. (Think "Donny & Marie" without the super awkward brother and sister love songs.)

Some of the highlights include:

The Garmyns

The Opening Number

Small Dancing

NBC hasn't announced yet if "TMRS" will get more episodes, but the show's solid ratings certainly bode well for its future.
