At least one veteran player isn't pleased with how NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell handled -- or didn't handle -- the arrest of Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay. Washington Redskins safety Ryan Clark claimed that Goodell's inaction so far "shows the hypocrisy of the NFL" while appearing on ESPN's "First Take" on Wednesday.
Irsay was arrested in March on suspicion of intoxicated driving and had $29,000 in cash as well as bottles of prescription drugs in his vehicle, the Associated Press reported. When asked about Irsay on Tuesday at the owners' meeting, Goodell said "there have been no charges" and "until we have more information and more facts we will let it play out."
That wait-and-see response didn't sit well with Clark, who asked "when has having enough information been what Roger Goodell waits for to make these decisions?"
"Right now if Jim Irsay is going to represent this league and represent the Indianapolis Colts, going to be on TV at the owners' meeting trying to bring a Super Bowl to Indianapolis after what he's done? It shows the hypocrisy of the NFL and also Roger Goodell in the way that he deals with players and the way he deals for the people he works for," Clark said. "And he has always said that 'I don't work for the owners.' Well that's not true. Because in the CBA negotiations you were sitting with the owners."

Clark pointed out that Goodell quickly disciplined Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger in 2010 after he was accused of sexual assault, but had not been charged with a crime, per ESPN.com.
