Thai Army Suspends Constitution, Says Army Chief In Charge

BANGKOK, May 22 (Reuters) - Thailand's army chief, Prayuth Chan-ocha, will head the military council that is now in charge of the country, a deputy spokesman said on Thursay, after the army staged a coup to remove the government.

Winthai Suvaree, in a televised statement, said the constitution was being suspended but the Senate upper house and all courts would continue to function.
