Comedy legend and "The View" co-host Whoopi Goldberg has been married three times, but don't expect to hear wedding bells again anytime soon. On "Oprah's Master Class," she explained that marriage just isn't her cup of tea.
"I'm not a good marrying person," Whoopi says with a laugh. "I always thought if I was married, I'd be closer to normal. But as it turns out, I'm just not normal and it's something I've come to accept."
Whoopi says marriage sounded like a good idea when her first husband, Alvin Martin, proposed while they were living together. "I thought if I structured a life that way, I would feel more like everyone else," she says. "It was good, but it wasn't for me."
She has a daughter from her first marriage and has no regrets. "I'm okay on my path. I like my path. I like not having to explain myself constantly," she smiles.
"And you have to give and take in a relationship and, you know, I don't really got much to give these days," Whoopi laughs.
