These Men Had Trouble Playing 'Dad,' Until They Realized The Best Advice Can't Be Scripted

When it comes to playing "dad," the best portrayal comes from the heart.

In the "casting call" above, men auditioning for the role of "dad" take part in scenes involving babies, stubborn kids and teenage daughters. But as the performers soon learn, dealing with wailing children, picky eaters and new drivers is no easy feat -- even when there's a script.

And as well all know, parents don't get a script in real life.

When the men were asked "do it the way your dad would've said it to you," the actors get to the heart of what it means to be a dad.

The "Dad Casting" video is a follow up to the American Greetings Cardstore viral Mother's Day video, "World's Toughest Job." Both clips may be ads, but they certainly prove that parenthood is a job unlike any other.

"Fatherhood is full of amazing, unscripted moments that slide by without recognition," Cardstore says. "This Father’s Day, we want dads everywhere to be celebrated and get all the love they deserve."
