An "ugly as hell" Republican primary is taking place today in New Jersey.

The GOP race to replace Rep. Jon Runyan (R-N.J.), who remarked on the "ugly" race in a piece published Monday, is between insurance executive and former Randolph Mayor Tom MacArthur and former Bogota Mayor Steve Lonegan, a tea party favorite. Runyan has endorsed MacArthur, who has invested $2 million of his own money into the race.
