Man Accused Of Running Over Daughter's Fiance With Truck

An Oklahoma father is accused of running over his daughter's fiance with a pick-up truck after he learned of the couple's engagement.

James Littrell, 48, allegedly would not allow his daughter to leave his Oklahoma City home on Monday when his son-in-law-to-be, Christian Leatherwood, arrived.

Leatherwood told authorities that he left the residence and went to a nearby gas station, where Litrell confronted him, KFOR reports.

KOCO reports:

“Told us to stay the hell away from his daughter and he was going to do what he wanted,” recalled Victory Nelson, a friend of Leatherwood. Nelson called his uncle, who is a police officer, to report Littrell. His uncle advised him he should take a picture of the license plate of Littrell's truck.

But when Leatherwood went to snap the photo, Littrell allegedly hit the gas.

“[He] ran into his truck, put the keys, threw it in reverse and hit me,” Leatherwood told KOCO. “I ended up on the tailgate, because I didn’t want my legs broken.”

Littrell faces a charge of assault with a deadly weapon. The victim suffered minor injuries.
