Bea Miller Talks 'Young Blood': I Wanted To Empower The Teens Who Will Rule The World

Bea Miller: Teenagers Are Going To Take Over The World

Singer-songwriter Bea Miller has an important message: Pretty soon, today's teenagers will run the planet.

The former "X Factor USA" contestant dropped by HuffPost Live to chat about her new EP, "Young Blood," and said the music is important to her because of the empowering message to young people.

"I wanted to get the message across that teenagers -- basically, we're going to take over the world at some point, because we're going to be the adults in the future, and I wanted to kind of empower that and say we are in charge of what happens next," she said.

But that doesn't mean her songs ignore the challenges of being a teenager.

"I also wanted to be relatable in the sense that I could talk about some of the darker parts of being a teenager, too, and growing up," she said. "I thought it was really important to kind of connect with lighter and darker sides."
