The second season of "Orange Is the New Black" was unveiled Friday, June 6, and if you're not one of the proud and few who have already finished it, you're probably in mid-binge -- or at least starting soon. If you haven't gotten through Episode 2, "Looks Blue, Tastes Red," yet, then stop reading now, or else something funny will get spoiled.
In the episode, Big Boo has a bit of an awkward moment with her dog Lil Boo. While feeding the pup some peanut butter, she takes notice of her licking abilities. That gives her a wild idea, especially now that her beloved screwdriver is gone. Yep, Boo goes there. But luckily we don't have to watch any inter-species oral sex on screen, and Boo quickly ends things saying "it got weird."
Lea DeLaria, who plays Boo, told TV Guide that her first reaction to the scene was split. "Well, of course, the lesbian feminist side of me wants to say, 'That's abusive to animals, blah blah blah blah blah,'" Delaria said. "But you know the comedian in me -- Anything for a laugh DeLaria -- jumped up and down like a little girl and went, 'Oh, here we go! More controversy. Let's do it!'"
We're so glad she was cool with it, because it's such a Big Boo thing to do. DeLaria said she's certain it'll surprise people as the screwdriver did. And for those people who react negatively? "I just don't party with them. They're not my kind of people," DeLaria said. (They also probably aren't the right crowd for the show anyway.)
"Orange Is the New Black" Season 2 is streaming on Netflix.
