This Is What A (High School Male) Feminist Looks Like

Posted: Updated:

If you're feeling a bit discouraged by the fight against sexism, this video is the perfect pick-me-up.

High school teacher Ileana Jiménez posted a video of seven of her male high school students sharing their thoughts on feminism. Each young man proudly declares himself a feminist and discusses how feminism has impacted everyday life.

To watch 16- and 17-year-old boys promote feminism with such passion and pride is refreshing. While women still (rightfully) stand at the forefront of the feminist movement, the fact that educators emphasize women's equality to young men early and often is critical to ever achieving it.

When asked what he see as the future of feminism, one young man said, "Us! We're the future of feminism and that's why we have to keep the ball rolling."
