Apple Fails To Hurry Along Emoji Diversity

Despite the anticipated release of over two hundred new emojis this July, the world of texting icons will still be lacking a lot of diversity.

There's been widespread criticism from users and celebrities -- even Miley Cyrus agrees we need an #EmojiEthnicityUpdate. However, Apple has failed to change the standard set of people emojis. MTV Act reports that the tech company has claimed to "have been working closely with the Unicode Consortium" that controls the standard of emojis, but has nothing as of yet to show for it.

For now there are black emojis available from Oju Africa.
