Doesn't Look Like 'Community' Will Be Getting A 6th Season On Hulu After All

Well, this is bad news for the Greendale Human Beings: Hulu has reportedly ended its discussions to resurrect “Community” for a sixth season.

NBC canceled the show about a band of misfits at a community college back in May, but fans had a glimmer of hope when it was reported that Hulu and Sony, which owns the property, were in talks to bring the show to the paid streaming service. Unfortunately, those dreams have been dashed.

According to TV Line, Hulu has abandoned its bid to give fans the sixth season they were hoping for. However, the outlet reports that Sony is not giving up and fighting for the show until June 30, when the actors' contracts expire.

Hulu did not immediately return The Huffington Post's request for comment.

Dan Harmon, the show's creator, recently blogged about rumors of the show's revival and warned fans the process would not be easy. "[T]here are lots of reasons a Community resurrection could be difficult. So be prepared for that," he said.

Indiewire notes another season of "Community" would make the show more attractive for a syndication package that would bring in money for years to come.

We guess only time will tell what happens.
