After decades of headline-making interviews, Barbara Walters ended her run on "The View" on May 16 with a "see you later" instead of "goodbye." In her upcoming "Oprah's Master Class" interview, Barbara opens up about her decision to step away.
"I have, of course, mixed feelings about retiring," Walters says in the above video.
Walters, who will be returning to "The View" as a guest on Friday to discuss her upcoming interview with Peter Rodger, says she wanted to leave on a high note.
"It's time, and I know it," she says. "And I wanted to leave while people still wanted to interview me, maybe, or still thought about me. Rather than, 'Oh, is she still alive?' So I know that it's time to go."
"What I will do when I get up and don't have a studio to go to, I'm not sure," Walters admits. "But when young people, especially young women, come up to me and say, 'You inspired me to go into this business,' I feel then, I have a legacy."
