Argentina Fans Chant, Cheer With Replica Of Neymar's Spine

Rule No. 1 for being a classy sports fan: Don't celebrate the injuries of your opponents.

And if you must celebrate them, don't do so publicly -- especially not while hoisting a replica of your injured opponent's spinal column in the air while chanting about it gleefully, as these fans of Argentina have chosen to do.

A video of the chant, posted to YouTube, shows a group of Argentina fans dancing about, spinal column held high, and chanting, "Olé olé olé olé olá! Acá tenemos la columna de Neymar!" Per USA Today, that translates roughly to, "Here we have the spine of Neymar!"

Brazil's star forward Neymar da Silva Santos Júnior suffered a fractured vertebra during last week's victory over Colombia. The injury sidelined him for the rest of the 2014 World Cup. The two teams could meet in the final of the World Cup if Brazil beats Germany on Tuesday and Argentina beats the Netherlands on Wednesday.

Stay classy, Argentina fans.

CORRECTION: A previous version of this story stated Argentina fans were holding a replica of a spinal cord. They are holding a replica of a spinal column.
