This Is How The 'Seinfeld' Cast Became The Perfect Ensemble

"Seinfeld" premiered July 5, 1989, and yada, yada, yada, it's now considered to have one of the greatest ensemble casts of all time. But there's more to it than that.

In an interview for "Archive of American Television," Jason Alexander revealed that the cast really grew together out of necessity. Alexander says that "Seinfeld" directors didn't necessarily stage the show and script pages were often written with only dialogue, so the actors had to help each other by making up what actions each of them would do in the scene. This daily collaboration, along with the cast's various backgrounds of everything from standup to theater, helped form the Jerry, George, Elaine and Kramer that we know and love today.

This perfect ensemble chemistry and collaborations with the rest of the staff led to some of the most memorable "Seinfeld" moments ever, including one of its most famous episode endings: "The Marine Biologist."
