Prepare to be terrified.
The first teaser for the spinoff to last year’s “The Conjuring” has arrived, and it may be the scariest trailer of 2014.
The demonic doll Annabelle, which The Hollywood Reporter notes was a supporting character in the 2013 horror flick, was one of the many haunted objects found in the home of real-life paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren, played (in both movies) by Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga respectively.
The haunting trailer appears to show how Annabelle starts as a harmless gift from a husband to his pregnant wife, and becomes one of the creepiest things we've ever laid eyes on.
Due to hit theaters Oct. 3, “Annabelle" is produced by Peter Safran and “The Conjuring” director James Wan, according to Variety. Gary Dauberman, who was cinematographer for the spinoff's predecessor, will direct the new film.
