Chase Headley, welcome to the Bronx. New York, meet the newest member of the Yankees.
In his first game in pinstripes following a trade, Headley endeared himself to fans at Yankee Stadium with a walk-off single in the 14th inning against the Texas Rangers on Tuesday night. Just hours after the veteran third baseman was dealt to the Yankees by the San Diego Padres, he entered the game as a pinch-hitter in the eighth inning. A few hours after that, he delivered the decisive hit in his new team's 2-1 win.
"Unbelievable," Headley said after the win, via The Associated Press. "I'm excited to be here. I can't wait to help, and just to be a part of this great franchise."
