Rachel McAdams Cringes While Watching Her 'Notebook' Audition

The "Today" show put Rachel McAdams through some kind of cruel torture when the hosts made McAdams watch her audition tape for 2004's "The Notebook."

McAdams was on the show to promote her new thriller, "A Most Wanted Man," but Matt Lauer and Al Roker really wanted to talk about how much they cried when watching "The Notebook." Roker remembered a flight from New York to Los Angeles when they were together: "I'm sitting next to Matt and he's watching a movie, I'm reading a book and I notice he's crying. He's sobbing."

But then, Lauer pulled up McAdam's 10-year-old audition tape, which went viral earlier this summer. McAdams watched the 25-year-old version of herself spill her heart out and turned a few different shades of embarrassment. "Why are you cringing?" Lauer asked. "You got the part! It worked out well! Nicely done."
