In this day and age, most are a little guilty of being a bit over attached to their smartphones.

But sometimes, it's easy to forget how ridiculous this phone obsession really is.

This short from BuzzFeed gives a hilarious taste of reality, as it follows a woman going about her day using her smartphone, which has actually taken on a life of its own. It's not a phone, it's a "Dan."

Her "Dan" usage pretty much mirrors the good, the bad and the ugly habits of smartphone users. From searching for him frantically under the covers, wiping him on her shirt to remove smudges and commanding him to search for celebrity facts to dropping him in the tub and the all-too-familiar nightmare of leaving him in a cab.

The video is appropriately funny, but also shows how much time we really text, talk and Google. Perhaps if smartphones actually were significant others, we wouldn't miss out on so much human connection.
